These postcards were collected by Jon Schlissel, who was an avid collector of items related to his adopted hometown of Jersey City. His life was tragically cut short in the attack on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. We honor the generosity of spirit that led him to stipulate in his will that his collection be shared by becoming part of the collections of the Jersey City Free Public Library, and are proud to make his bequest the first collection shared on this digital platform.
